We really wanted to show you this Portuguese wedding that took place at Cortijo Alameda in Granada. Lola and Pedro got married in the Church of Santa Maria de la Alhambra in Granada, next to the Palace of Charles V.
Pedro chose to have his groom's preparations at one of our favorite hotels in downtown Granada, the Marquis Issabel's Hotel. Lola got dressed as a bride at the family home, also very close to the center of Granada. We remember how nervous Pedro was. All his Portuguese family and friends had come to Granada for his wedding and he wanted everyone to be comfortable and feel at home. Besides, every time he thought about seeing Lola… he got even more nervous! It was so much fun to be by his side, and to help him control those last minute nerves.
After the bride and groom's preparations, we headed to the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra in Granada, where everything was ready for a very beautiful religious ceremony. It was officiated by two parish priests, one Portuguese in honor of Pedro, and the other from Granada in honor of Lola. The religious wedding was celebrated in Spanish and Portuguese, and it was very moving. After the religious wedding in Granada we went for a few minutes to the Palace of Charles V. This monument brought back very good memories to our bride and groom and that is why we took their couple pictures there. We took advantage of the proximity of the Palace of Charles V of the Alhambra for Lola and Pedro to have some wonderful couple photos.
Then we headed to Cortijo Alameda in Granada, where Leticia, the coordinator of the Cortijo and great friend, had everything ready for this Granada and Portuguese wedding. Lola and Pedro are great travelers, and the proof of this is that friends came from many parts of the world. English, Turks, Japanese, Germans? A wonderful mix of cultures! We enjoyed a welcome drink under a May sun that gave us a very pleasant warmth. All the family and friends of the bride and groom enjoyed amazing appetizers and fruit cocktails that were delicious. The meal was held outside, with a stunning decoration. You have to see how Lola and Pedro wanted to decorate the tables where wood and olive tree were the real protagonists. After a wedding meal full of gifts, laughter and lots of love, we went to that part that we love so much, the dance!!!! Lola prepared for Pedro a surprise dance with all her friends and he was not expecting it at all. You can't miss how this destination wedding ended at Cortijo Alameda in Granada. Enjoy it!
